This Christmas, Think Others.

Do you have any plan for Christmas this year when expecting for 'end of the world'? Christmas always makes December so beautiful. I love Christmas, and to countdown for another brand new year. Every year has been like that, to shop for Christmas gifts, celebrate and makan. This year, on this day - Christmas eve, I decided to fulfill one of my resolution which has been pending for the past two years, which is to -- sponsor a child via World Vision Malaysia.

I had this idea when I first started working. I'm not quite sure where I got this idea, maybe in a way of thinking contribute back to the society? World Vision do not directly pass the money to the sponsored kids, and they don't encourage the sponsors to send monetary items to the sponsored kids as well. For more info about world vision, you can log on to their official website www.worldvision.org.

So, with little monthly committment, I'm happy on what I can contribute.
It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Gardens by the Bay

Hello, Singapore! This is an out-dated blogpost, I actually visited this beautiful place on October. Aww... how I miss this fun and happy trip :( Look at the photo, my grandma a.k.a. San San is flying off to Japan in another 4 days. Happy-nyeer. How I wish I can travel non-stop and no need to work *wake-up, it's not going to happen at this point of time* Well, that's actually one of my dream :)

Gardens by the Bay is strategically located next to Marina Bay, the iconic spaceship building with hotel, casino and shopping mall all together. There is a link bridge you can walk from the hotel too. A very nice bridge especially night time, you can just sit on the benches and see the car passes by :) Relaxing if it is a windy night.

Wait no further, we got the tickets and ready for our adventure to the bay! This beautiful place had killed our camera battery life badly. Even the memory card got affected. The admission fees for two conservatories is SGD 28 per adult and another SGD 5 for the skyway. Two conservatories include Cloud Forest (云雾林) and Flower Dome (花穹).

The sun is shining bright, so we decided to keep the walkway till the evening and go for Cloud Forest first. Wow...wow...wow... Present to you, The Falls!!! How can you not taking photo in front of this beautiful waterfalls? They are moving the beauty of nature into this dome! oMg... and this is just the beginning.

Though it looks small from the outside, it has 4-5 floors in this dome. You just gonna walk walk walk and continually be amazed. What keep repeating in my mind is that: how they do this ah? Who is the big mind behind this? It is tremendously amazing to me. It is kinda hard to have a garden in a developed city, and now they make this garden in a building. *speechless*

You will not feel warm because there are air-conditioner everywhere. In fact, you will enjoy the scenery more than anything.

This the the true Gardens by the Bay, check out the view behind. I'm not sure if there's any attractions coming up next. We spent almost four hours in this place, not including Flower Dome yet. I shall keep Flower Dome in the next post then.

Stay tune!

Brand New Look

Do you like my new blog layout? I've been using the previous blog template for two years, and was thinking to dress it up with a new look. Searching high and low, filtering template by template, finally chose this polka-dot. This time round, I prefer simpler design and try to avoid the same old black colour.

I actually spotted a few but after try it on, I personally like the simplicity and the look and feel of this design. Credit to OhhAeen for this beautiful design, hope to see more templates from her. Even the little cursor can be changed :D

Hope this brand new look give me more motivation to write... No more excuses huh.

Say good-bye to the old look, and...

Welcome the new look...

I'm a happy girl now.

2012.2012

While everyone is throwing party to "celebrate" the end of the world, i stayed home and... write. People always says live like as if your last day in this world, so that we will treasure every moment and be thankful. What if tomorrow is the real 'end of the world'? Wow.. this is really one good question to think of!

Well, end of the world is coming, don't tell me that you gonna speed along the highway and think that AES not gonna snap your photo anymore. I believe some people who are adventurous will do that, but I'm categorized as an introvert and a conservative one. So, I prefer to spend quality time with people who matters to me the most. My family, my besties, and my love.

Maybe the movie '2012' had successfully brainwashed our mind. Don't you think it is scary that all the living things will gone in a day, or maybe just in seconds. By thinking about it, I think this is super scary, and what's next? We are not gonna evolve into angel and fly around with our angel stick right? We will find out the answer when it really happens!

Today, with a super nice date @ 2012.2012. Together with our supplier, we hanged out for Christmas lunch. My boss keep stressing : "we have to feast before the world ends!" And here you go, ta-daaa...

On this very special day 2012.2012
when we still alive,
still able to love,
to give and to bless.

Tell your love notes before it's too late :P

Happy 2012.2012!

What is your dream?

A random person asked me this question not long ago. I stunt a while and start thinking… This is a very good question to ponder because often we’ve been too busy and we forgotten what are we fighting for. Few years back, my dream is that someday I can have my own business which I will have enough to help those who in need. They call it social entrepreneur. I also dreamt that I will have the chance to travel around the world, to learn different language, to learn different culture. My dream is that one day I will be able to support my family for a better living. I have so many dreams back then, that I almost forget now.

Nowadays, despite working and meeting friends, I personally feel that I’m not moving forward either. Is that the life that I really want for the rest of my life? That’s when this question really strikes me! It is not fun to have something serious to think about, but it is crucial to have that in mind as I really do not want to regret in the future. My target for 2013 should be steps that will bring me closer to my dreams. Isn’t it?

As days passed by, and now is already the end of 2012. Can you imagine that in 23 days time we will be welcoming 2013? (if the end of the world is not here yet, :P) Every year end I will sigh because the time has been so cruel to me. But still, looking back the target which I’ve set early this year, I’m quite happy that at least I achieved some of my target this year. *proud*

Think again. What do you want to achieve in life?

Say Good bye

Look at the title you may start wondering, why good bye? Yes, say good bye to my beloved "grandma" aka San San. Happy and sad at the same time. Happy because she had finally make a move to a better, sad because I lost one good companion in the office :'(

She was in Taiwan when I first joined the company. I forgotten how we get along after that and since then, we are good friends. We went to short trip together, we had lunch together (except sometimes she abandoned me), we had dinner after work, we stayed back for decor, we share the same joke, we talk the same topic, and not to forget, she did helped me a lot in my work. It is such a joy to have her along.

She swallow a lot of my stories and photos did captured the moment we spent together. Let's start from <when we are not so close>, back in 2010. This photo was taken during our Staff Party in Lava Bar @ Changkat Bukit Bintang. The first party that I attended two days after I joined the company.

After that we starts to have lunch together, talk non-stop, I believe it is the moment which created our relationship until now. Let the photos do the talking by bringing you through this fantastic journey.

This photo was taken in Jan 2011 during our CNY decor.

The "moment" when I lie to her and she trusted me for three months.
I still remember I clarified this issue to her at my balcony.

Our company event, it's also Husna's last event. Had first time late supper with the team!

Life has been so beautiful to be surrounded with beautiful people. We hang out after work for dinner, sometimes for movie. I really miss those time when life are much simpler <3

Un-boxing the new iMac in office

I miss Husna and San San now!
We then had our beloved Jr. popcorn machine Ms. Husna resign in April, one of the funniest people that I ever met. Read my blog to her here. She's now happily married to her Superman, with one wonderful daughter. So happpyyyy for her, Pn. Fatimah!

I personally like this photo a lot <3

Our first getaway trip! Yuuhooo, this grandma like to eat inside the car. Her hobbies are sleeping and eating inside the car :) She can eat snacks, bread, and whatever you can name inside the car. Since then, we will stock lots of thins inside the car just for her. The best part is, even she's sleeping, she will still listen on to your conversation. *thumbs up*

It's my birthday!!
Happy Birthday to Sasa @ e-Curve!

Let's go to Singapore!! At the same year Christmas, we went to Singapore Universal Studio. I had went once, but I don't mind going again with this crazy bunch though!

Just realized that we've been went to so many places, and they were all awesome and fun trip! There are so much more that I wanted to post up. Since it's San San's birthday today, I would like to dedicate this post to her:

Happy Birthday, ah nai! I love you <3

Getaway to Asia's 1st Legoland

If you've read my birthday post you will know that this is actually one of my birthday presents. This is a totally unplanned itinerary, yes, we are just random/spontaneous like this. Sometimes I do salute myself too :P

It is a Friday morning, we woke up super early and head down to .... Legoland @ Nusajaya! Estimated 2 and a half hours journey from KL.. It is quite easy to find if you're coming from the North-South Highway, follow Nusajaya EXIT 253, followed by EXIT 312, from here along the way you will see Legoland signage to your desired place. Wuuhoo!! (If you're using GPS, the code is N1'26'14" E103'37'2".)

Talking and chatting non-stop inside the car, fall asleep once a while, check the roadsign to make sure we don't miss the exit. Then, here I am... Present to you, Asia's 1st Legoland Park at Nusajaya, Johor Bahru!!

It is not very crowded, maybe because we are here on weekdays. Present our admission tickets without queueing, Grab a brichure and get it started! We are wondering whether we can finish it on time by looking at the map because their operating hours until 6pm only.

What welcomes you is their souvenir store - The Big Shop and The Brick Shop. It is too hot here and we hide ourselves in the store for a while. A wide range of items for your selection, even the keychain is Lego's character selection. I love all of them. The display outside the store.

I'm amazed by the display over here, almost 90% of their display are built by Lego Bricks. Super awesome and their creativity is unbelievabl.e. I wonder how they did that. Like this sleeping old man, even got the snoozing sound from him.

There are total six attractions in the park and we started ours with [Lego Technic]. We hop on to a ride which similiar to the spinning cup in Genting. they called it Technic Twister. You have to leave your belongings like bag, camera at the place provided because you're not allowed to bring it along with you during the rides.

Another rides here is [Project -X], a race car display for photo opportunity.

Proceed on is [Kingdom], if you've seen Legoland brochure, the green dragon Roller Coaster can be found here, named [The Dragon]. The entrance is a huge castle.

Hungry halfway? So many restaurants for you to choose from, and we chose this one.

Imagination is the place for you to spark your imagination. We took a break at their [Build & Test], this is the place there you can build your anything by using the Lego bricks provided in the place. Like this:

[Observation Tower] where you can marvel the landscape of Legoland from top. One advantage to visit Theme Park on a weekdays because you can skip the queue and save lots of time on that. With that, you can hop on to the same rides twice :D

[Kid Power Tower] is one fun ride that I enjoyed and scared at the same time. The machine will bring you through half way, and you need to pull on the string provided to reach the top of the rides. I'm very brave in pulling the string but I'm really scared when I almost reach the top. No photo for this, in case you're wondering which one I'm talking about, spot this bunny and you'll find it.

There are [Lego Studio] where there's a 4D theatre for you to enjoy. Remember to have a look at DUPLO Playtown, more to a playground for kids, and spot some display by Lego bricks too.

Before proceed to [Land of Adventure], snap a photo first! There's music coming out from the musical instrument okay?

Welcome to [Land of Adventure], we did not spend much time here but we enjoy seeing people play [Dino Island] because they get wet from this rides. We definitely do not want to get wet and we skipped this!

[Lost Kingdom Adventure], the customer service here is bad and not professional, even the crowd control is bad (with little crowd only). But the ride is fun and happening, you got a laser gun with you and you can shoot the tiny yellow light along the journey to earn point. (Note: The point is for fun only) Then the automated camera will snap your photo close to the ending there, remember to peace and smile. =)

We gets tired after finishing the four main attractions, I'm not sure whether arranging [Miniland] to be the last one to visit is a good choice or not because the skies seems darker by then. At the same time, we are here at [Lego City], notice that there will be a show at 4.30 at [Lego City Stage]. My personal opinion is that you can skipped it if you're rushing. It is all about safety concern when you're at home.

The weather is real bad now, we quickly ran to [Miniland] and both the camera and handphone battery are running low. There are so many wonderful buidling built by Lego bricks. How can you not taking photo of them? Trying our luck to capture as much photo as we can, and un-ending calls from office makes my phone die even faster.

Still, we have enough time to marvel on this *I seriously don't know how they did that* building with sound, movement, water, lights and etc. They are all made by Lego Bricks. Yes, the Lego bricks that we can get from the departmental store. Imagine how you can build such amazing thing from the tiny bricks!!

It is one happy getaway (well, I'm happy on every getaway)! Visit and learn at the same time :D

Tips for visit:
1. Bring sunshades / umbrella / caps.
2. Makesure camera is fully charged and sufficient memory in your memory card.

Planning your trip now? Visit http://www.legoland.my for more info!
Have fun visiting Legoland Malaysia!

What is your Love Language?

The 5 Love Languages was quite a famous topic back then and I had a discussion with my friend about this topic recently. Just in case, these 5 love languages consist of Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Act of Service and Physical Touch

If you're uncertain about your love language, you can take an online test [here]. Knowing your primary love language can help you communicate effectively in order to feel loved.

Below content copied from OkCupid:

Quality Time:
You crave togetherness. You want a person's undivided attention - a true connection with someone. Dialects of the language of Quality Time are Quality Conversation, Quality Listening, and Quality Activities. You can enjoy just one or multiple dialects.

Words of Affirmation:
Everyone should learn to be proficient in this language of love. Word of encouragement, words of praise, kind words will make you feel best if that's your primary love language.

Gifts:
The important thing is not the gift, but the love that is communicated. Learn the person's interests. It shows that you listen, pay attention, and took the Quality Time to get something thoughtful. :)

Act of Service:
It is the thought and intent behind the acts of service that counts, which means do it our of love but not duty. Acts of service is not slavery. Love refuses to be manipulated. There is no such thing as "if you love me, you would..."

Physical Touch:
If this is your primary language, then a hand on the shoulder or a pat on the back speaks louder than words. Physical touch can be appreciated by anyone, but to those fluent in the language of physical touch, it shouts! Of course, it's not just ANY physical touch that communicates love.

Check out your love language and learn other's love language today!

Love Life @ this October

Meet Merlion

Another happening weekend on the last week of October. It was a long weekend so the Avengers came out with a plan, to go to Singapore! This was not an unplanned trip, in fact we get ourselves "confuse" for so many times before we confirmed the trip. Lesson to learn is "always speak the truth only". This is not the first time we went to Singapore, I think it's the 4th times in two years time. *break-record*

Not by flight, not by bus, but we drove all the way from KL to Johor, overnight at JB and we depart on the next morning to Singapore. Guess what? I actually met my Uncle at the check point area. The world is so small and I have not met him for two years already. We had a short chat and the Avengers are chasing me like crazy, and somebody got angry with me too. *sob*

Singapore Zoo is quite near from Woodlands and here we are at Singapore Zoo!

Well, the zoo is so big and we really got no idea on where to start. I've heard so many good comments about Singapore Zoo and always wanted to visit them. Everything here is nice!! The animals are so active, we saw the White Handed Gibbon swing from one tree to another. Awesome! The otters can even pose for the camera, so cheeky!!

One unforgettable experience is to feed Manatee here. With SGD 5, you get a basket of food to feed them. All donations proceed to their conservation fund. I think there are total seven of them if I'm not mistaken. One of them named Valentine, so sweet. They are so huge, and they need to eat up to 300Kg food per day. Can you imagine that?

Opposite Manatee pool, there are few displays, take photo is one must for us as a tourist here!

After that we continue to their stage show - Rainforest Fight Back.. This is one educational stage show to educate the public on the importance of rainforest. We need to do our part for our tomorrow. If we don't start today?  Imagine if 20 years down the road, there is a possibilities of no forest, no tree in the world. I think this is one scary issue by simply imagining.

It is a super long journey continue on, we spend close to 6 hours at this amazing place. There's tram services also, four main station to cover the route. We did hop on to that, but to see the animals in a closer distance, we just walk, walk, walk, and walk. Awesome.... and hungry! By the time we wanted to sit down and relax, the restaurants here started to close down, thank God Night Safari is just nearby, so we had our lunch+dinner there!

Oooohhh......Kai Kai & Jia Jia!!! I've watched their transportation live webcast from Changi Airport to River Safari, can't wait for their appearance in River Safari soon. Before the actual visit, let's take a photo with them here!

Singapore Zoo and Night Safari is just nearby through a short walking distance.

Along the way, this is how my funny avengers can be.

So here we are at Night Safari!! It is super hard to spot a seat here and it is so crowded. While finding seats, I spotted one table and one foreign tourist just grab the chair and sit down. Ya, so no manners right? Well, we managed to find another table after that. At 7pm, there's a show here at the stage right in front of the restaurant. So many people flow in and block our view from watching the show. I think they should keep the view exclusively for their dine-in guest instead of allowing non-dine-in public to enter and interrupt that.

Before we leave, one group photo okay?

Have fun!
